Radical Rat

June is radical. For the past few days she has been testing me to see how hard I will let her bite me. She broke skin on Net a couple days ago, I actually wrote a little poem about it.


We smoke a bowl and reminisce
while the tea kettle starts to bubble
near bye my pet rat June is dreaming
about human flesh....
she lays on the soft plush bedding
savoring a small piece of my friend
Jeanette's knuckle.


Today I was giving the rats some attention. Anais was closest to the opening of the cage and she was letting me pet her when after a minute June lunged at me and bit my pinky. I have a nice scratch from that. I have a feeling it's some sort of jealousy thing going on, not sure if it can be resolved or if June is just CRAZY. She acts really hyper and nutty all the time, which is fun to watch but not worth being bitten. I've got fifteen days and if she is still biting I am going to return her and get another rat.
