Beyond #53
January 16, 2000

It was more than he ever wanted

to give away

but I could see

                beyond    the    folds

of blankets which concealed warm palms

     and resting skin;

his body  stretched out  like smooth stones on a beach

Eyes that stared at an evening ceiling

without his glasses, I

     lingered beyond like particles

     trapped

in a square beam of light    giving

subtle kisses to magnetic eyes

that in the soft window light

looked like sea water collected; hot springs resting.

Lips, gathered gently

with dreams    I kissed with

closed eyes .... tangled hair

And left him a shadow

in an empty room
