Does the body rule the mind, or does the mind rule the body...I dunno
Tuesday September 28, 2004
I feel almost back to
normal. I finish my last dose of antibiotics tomorrow and will
finish out the week with my steroid inhaler. I missed two
days of work last week and posted a bit about it in my live journal...
"I had a bad night,
been fighting a upper respiratory infection since last Saturday, haven't
been feeling the best, but squeaking by. Last night around 1:30 a.m.
I woke up in a pool of sweat, feverish, faint, nauseas and weak. I
grabbed the old school thermometer and realized it was broke when it was
frozen on 98.6. I drove to Walgreens and bought a 10 second digital. I
was so sick...I don't know how I even drove. I was expecting a
high temp, but was freaked out when I found out my temp was 93. I didn't
know what to do, called my parents and my brother came and picked me up
and brought me back to my parent's house. It took all evening to get my
temp back up and to stop vomiting. Turns out I was massively dehydrated,
and my thyroid was haywire due to having an infection which caused my
temp to drop. I'm feeling better now, had to call in sick to work, I'm
hoping to go back tomorrow, I'm on antibiotics now and feeling much
better and my temp has now stabilized at 97.8 which is normal for me. I
still am getting hot flashes and am hoping that by tomorrow morning I
will be feeling back to normal as I have booked day at the salon."
On another note I
have been clean and sober for 9 days now. I have decided that I
needed to quit smoking pot for health reasons. This is the fourth
respiratory infection I have had this year and it's obvious that my
lungs are my weak spot. I think it's something that I just need to
do especially since my asthma and allergies have done nothing but get
worse even after I quit smoking cigarettes a year ago. I
also have decided to not drink any alcohol for a bit as I don't want to
substitute one habit for another. I do however plan on having some
drinks at any Halloween parties I go to. I have to say that I am
very proud of myself! I am doing many things for my health,
eating better and exercising can only be a few steps away.
